Creating New Classes

Step 1 |
At the beginning of the school year, you will be prompted to set up
your classes with “Welcome! You have no classes defined. Click OK
to create class files.” At the beginning of each
consecutive grading period you will have to go to File > New to
create your NEW classes. Please note that
semester and year long classes will not need to be recreated each
marking period. You are creating NEW classes, classes
that are NEW to you.

You will be prompted to create a class.

Step 2 |
Choose/select a class to create. Select Next.
|

Step 3 |
Class Title: Give your class a title. You may want to include a
grade level or period number in the title.
Remember, class titles can be modified at a later date.
Middles school Related Arts teachers often choose to name classes
similar to T1 P2 Computer 8. Tri 1 represents the first 12 weeks. P2
represents Period 2.
High school teachers often choose to name classes similar to P1BlueBiology to
represent Period 1, Blue Schedule, and the course of Biology.

Step 4 |
Template. The only template option you should choose is the building
template. For example, the middle school template is MS Template.
The high school template is HS Template.
Select Finish.

Step 5 |
Create ALL of your NEW classes at this time. |

After
all of your classes are created, select Stop Creating Files.

7 |
The
screen will show the current information. If correct, select YES. If
not, select NO and you can change anything that needs to be adjusted.
All
of your classes have been created.
