Overview of Pinnacle Toolbar |

The created class files can now
be opened. The toolbar can be viewed.

Click on a class to select it
and select OPEN to open it.

You should now see what appears
to be graph paper with all of the students’ names to the left.

Review the Pinnacle toolbar.

| File |
Under
FILE notice that you change the class title. Select Set Class Title
to change the title. NEW will take you back to CREATE your next
quarter, semester, and/or rotation files. OPEN opens a class.
CLOSE
closes a class. Save will save the file. EXIT will take you out
of the program.

| Edit |
Under EDIT review your choices.
COPY and PASTE are the two most common choices. You can add discipline
notes to your grade book.
However, please note that the
discipline notes can be viewed through Parent Internet Viewer.

| View |
Under VIEW review your choices.
After you place a few assignments in, you should come back to this
tab and look at your different view options. View> Marking Period
is where grades are overwritten and released.

| Select |
Under SELECT review your choices.
SELECT provides you with the available information. Your choices
can also take you to a specific location in the grade book. Select>
Marking Period Chooser allows you to move between quarters and
between semesters.

| Define |
Under DEFINE review your choices.
DEFINE is very important at this time. This is where you
define
the way you want the grades to be calculated and where you define specific categories
you would like to use.

| Utilities |
UTILITIES gives you the ability
to copy and paste, change blanks to zeros, and to import and export
information. You can also view and print bar graphs and statistics.

| Options |
The OPTIONS tab gives you the ability
to view only one student at a time, control EASY MODE, change significant
digits, and recalculate.
Significant Digits becomes important when submitting grades. The
significant digits must be set to zero in order to print report
cards.
Under OPTIONS you can checkmark
Show Student Only. This can also
be done using the Show Student Only icon.
Note: While conferencing with a parent you can click the image of
a student at a desk (Show Student Only icon), and only show the parent the child’s
scores without them seeing other students’ scores.

| Reports |
REPORTS tab gives you the ability
to print reports. Make sure you also checkmark Print Preview so you
can see what you are about to print before you waste paper.

| Pinnacle |
The Pinnacle tab gives you options
that allow you to communicate with other linked systems. You will
need to click on Update Roster if a student is added to or removed
from your class. Verification and Submitting are important when
Interims and Grades are due. You can also view each Student’s
Schedule from this location.

| Classes |
The tab CLASSES shows your classes.
You can click to open a class.
|
| Help |
The HELP tab provides you with help options.
